RIVERRISE BOOKINGS 1.10: spam protection and two-step sign-in
Bots are stopped before checkout, your team can sign in with a code from their phone, and the booking window works better with a keyboard, a screen reader or another language.
Spam protection
- NewBots stopped before checkout. The booking form now has a hidden field only bots fill in, a check that it wasn't filled in impossibly fast, and a limit on booking attempts from one connection. It's always on, real guests never see it, and the waitlist form is covered too.
- NewOptional Cloudflare Turnstile. For extra protection against automated bookings and card testing, paste your free Turnstile keys into Settings, Team, Security. Most guests never see a puzzle.
- NewSee what was blocked. The Security page shows how many attempts were stopped and when the latest one was.
Two-step sign-in for your team
- NewA code from your phone at every sign-in. Each person can add a 6-digit code from an authenticator app (Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, 1Password or Authy) from their WordPress profile. A stolen password is no longer enough to see guest details or issue refunds.
- NewBackup codes. Turning it on gives 10 single-use backup codes for a lost phone.
- NewRequire it for everyone. Owners can require two-step sign-in for the whole team in Settings, Security. Anyone without it is walked through setup the next time they sign in, and owners can reset it for someone who loses their phone.
Booking window
- ImprovedEasier with a keyboard or screen reader. Focus moves to each new step and returns to your button when the window closes. Screen readers announce each step and every error, a missing detail is marked on its field, and arrow keys move around the calendar.
- ImprovedLess motion when guests ask for it. Animations switch off for guests whose phone or computer is set to reduce motion.
- NewReady for translation. Every word guests see can be translated with a WordPress language pack or a plugin like Loco Translate, and dates and weekday names follow your site language.
What stays the same
- ImprovedNothing changes until you turn it on. Spam protection works on its own. Turnstile and two-step sign-in stay off until you set them up, so nobody is asked for a code after this update.
See it on your own trips.
